Here’s the poster for our next concert which has a fabulous French flavour. Local baritone Mark Saberton and soprano Caroline Clarke are our soloists. Tickets as usual from Tourist Information or Compact Music.

We’re starting 2020 rehearsals on Monday 6th January for Faure’s Requiem and Poulenc’s Gloria, for our next concert on 5th April.
Our next concert is on Sunday 17th November at 7.30pm in St Peters:
Magnificat by CPE Bach, and Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, with some superb young soloists from the Royal College of Music and an invited orchestra.
Tickets are £12 for adults, £4 for 11-18s/students and £2 for under 11s, from Sudbury Tourist Information (Library), Compact Music (North Street), or on the door.
CPE Bach was the fifth child of JS Bach, working during the transitional period between the Baroque and Classical eras.
Here’s a portrait of him:

We’ve had some lovely comments about yesterday’s summer concert, including this one on the Sudbury, Suffolk UK Facebook group:

Tickets for our Summer Concert 23rd June at 3.30pm in St Peter’s are selling fast, could be the combo of a primary school choir (aaah), cake (yum) and some truly excellent numbers on the theme of childhood, including some Disney Dazzlers!
Also on 23rd June at 7pm there’s a bonus concert in St Peter’s, The Guild of Horn Players Quartet which features the top brass of French horn players in the UK. You name it, they can play it on the French horn so not to be missed. Tickets available from the same sources as the Summer Concert, Compact Music, North St Sudbury or the Tourist Information Office.

Hallelujah!
Don’t forget, our Handel-fest is this Sunday, 7th April at 7.30pm in St Peters, Sudbury.
Tickets are available on the door or in advance from Compact Music, North St, or the Tourist Information Centre in Sudbury Library.
We are singing all the standards as well as some of the lesser known choruses (my favourite is the dramatic and dark fugue of He Trusted In God: https://youtu.be/-Y00eDIK52g).
See you on Sunday!
